We visited on the basis of strong recommendations and were excited for our first proper bouchon experience in Lyon. Sadly it fell short on several fronts.
The onglet listed on the menu was not onglet -- the texture and cut were clearly something cheaper, which is a straightforward misrepresentation. The tarte aux pommes was stale, suggesting it had been made well in advance and stored. The pannacotta was an unusual pink colour with a texture closer to a blancmange than anything we'd associate with the dish.
The room was cramped and not particularly clean. Service was fine.
Lyon has an extraordinary bouchon tradition and we'd encourage anyone visiting to explore the official Les Bouchons Lyonnais list for alternatives. We hope this was an off night rather than the norm.
